Happy Ol' McWeasel, a Celtic Punk Rock band from Slovenia

Irish Celtic Punk Rock is not a combination that one would normally find in Slovenia, a country in Southern Central Europe where the Alps and the Mediterranean meet each other. However, precisely in Slovenia, one finds a fabulous band by the name of Happy Ol' McWeasel that blends in their songs all the features of the Celtic soul. Happy Ol' McWeasel made its first great step in 2007 after playing in a local club where they delighted the crowd and received an invitation to play in one of Slovenia's most popular festivals, the Lent Festival. An accordion, guitars, a mandolin and energetic singing make of Cochon Bleu (English: Blue Pig) one of Holland's most promising bands. A brilliant mixture of traditional American-French songs with original compositions, the band is known for its unique way of performing Cajun music, one of the emblematic music styles of Louisiana. The music by Cochon Bleu is also marked by a great sense of humor and wit, a characteristic of their enthusiastic performances that have captivated the public in renowned festivals such as Folkwoods, EuroSonic, Noorderzon, De Parade and Oerol. During the fifteen years Cochon Bleu has been playing together they have released five albums that have received a warm welcome by the public.
